You can't load different versions in the same Operating System. Virtual Machines such as VMware is the only way unless you want to make multiple boots on your hard drive. VMs are easier. You can use Virtual PC from Microsoft (free) or VMWare if you need USB support.  You can run them on an external Hard Drive to make them portable or if you need more disk space.
