INDRA
Indra,
The software used to program the Micrologix is RSLogix500 - the same that is used for the SLC500 family. There is also a RSLogix Micro version that is cheaper and just allowes access to the Micrologix stuff. It is reported as being fairly limited. To communicate with the processor, you will also need RSLinx. There is a "lite" version of RSLinx that comes with RSLogix when you purchase it that is specifically designed just to work with the programming software. There is a free starter version of the RSLogix Micro software that is supposed to just be for the Micrologix 1100 and 1000. I will not work with the 1200 and it is limited to the small blocks (ie, no expansion I/O). There is a link to it in the forum here under the Allen Bradley area.
Russell
Hi Russel,
Thank you very much for your information.
I think I'll order software RSLOGIX500
one more question : I have RSLOGIX500 with licence in my PC not notebook but I never use the PC anymore, IS IT POSSIBLE to make install the CD SOFTWARE RSLOGIX500 to my new notebook and move the LICENCE from PC to my notebook ?
If possible, HOW TO DO IT ? ( TRANSFER LICENCE RSLOGIX from PC to my notebook )
Regards,
If you already have a copy on your PC then you really dont need two copies. What you have to do to move it depends on how old the software is. The older software used and activation key that was located on the drive of the computer running the software. It came with a master disk that could be used to transfer this activation file. From one computer to another. Alternatively, the master disk could also be used in an emergency to run the software on a computer just by inserting it in the floppy drive of the computer running the software. With the general movement away from floppy drives on computers today (not to mention floppies not being floppy), Rockwell has now moved to an online activation process that I am still not completely comfortable with. It also has methods to move around licenses, I just have not had to to it yet. I suspect your software is an older version and you can just use the master disk to move the activation from the PC to laptop. If you dont have the master disk, you may be able to contact Rockwell to get a new one or to upgrade to the newer software. To move the activation with the master, just run the evmove command located on the master disk and tell it how you want the activation moved (ie, from drive C to drive A). I have successfully moved activations to blank disks and back to other computers just using the evmove command though they tell me this is not supposed to work. Glad they told me after I had done it.
You will need the install files for the original RSlogix if yours is older. You cannot install a newer version and use an old activation. They are tied to the software version. If you have a valid package, there are also upgrade paths in you need them that are cheaper than a new package.
Hope this helps
