I hope you have been doing well!  I have some great news here at PLCMentor.com. I really wish I could take credit for it, but the guys at Rockwell are really the ones that deserve the praise.  We have covered in past emails the free micro starter version of RSLogix available on the Rockwell website.  That was great and only required finding a suitable PLC to be able to start learning how to program the Allen Bradly Micrologix processors.   I am very excited to let you know they have taken it a step further!  They now have available a free version of RSLogix Emulate on their site also!  So what does this mean to you?   RSLogix Emulate is a software package that simulates a working PLC.   This means that you can download a complete package to train on for free!  You do not have to have the actual PLC in order to test your programs!  I see a whole lot of exclamation points in this email, but I must say I am really excited about this.  This has been a problem for many of you wanting to train on PLC's.  Most of you felt our training courses were priced well, but had a difficult time finding a good setup to practice on that was affordable.  This makes getting started very easy!  If you are at all interested in PLC programming and don't have the software, you need to grab this software now!  I really don't how long they will have this posted so don't delay. 

I had to do something when I found out about this software freebie.  So last week I put together a set of videos to help you with the install and setup of the software packages Rockwell has posted  (I would have notified everyone earlier, but I had to startup a system all last week - still have to work for a living).  These videos cover installing the three packages - RSLogix, RSLinx, and Emulate.  They also cover how to get them all to work together.  That can sometimes be a little tricky.  I currently have these videos in our Stage 2 & 3 Micrologix training pages since they are specifically for that training.  For our Stage 1 subscribers, I am going to make a page to allow you to view them this week as many of you have been with us for a long time.  I want to open these up to you for a while as a way of saying thanks for training with us.    All of our subscribers can click on this link for the videos and a link to the Rockwell downloads:
